📣Beverly Hills community — now is the time to have your say
There are TWO important opportunities right now for the Beverly Hills community to have a say on the future of the town centre.
And importantly, they are not the same proposal.

1️⃣ State Government rezoning proposal
Submissions close 5pm, Friday 21 August 2026
The State Government is considering a developer-initiated, State-led rezoning proposal for the western side of King Georges Road.
If approved, it could deliver around 800 additional dwellings and 2,200 additional residents.
This is significant growth — but Council’s professional planning staff have raised serious concerns about whether the infrastructure and public benefits needed to support that growth have been adequately secured.
Council’s planners have raised concerns that the proposal is an isolated, site-specific vision that is inconsistent with Council’s Draft Master Plan and the Sydney South Planning Panel’s advice. They have also questioned how key infrastructure and public benefits — including through-site links, pocket parks and improvements to Dumbleton Lane — will be delivered and funded.
In short, the concern is that the proposal prioritises landowner interests over the broader needs of Beverly Hills.
This is the urgent one. Have your say directly to the State Government before 5pm on Friday 21 August.
2️⃣ Council’s Beverly Hills Town Centre Master Plan
Submissions close 27 September 2026
Council’s Draft Beverly Hills Master Plan takes a whole-of-town-centre approach, looking at how Beverly Hills should grow and revitalise over the next 20 years.
Prepared by independent planning experts, it considers not just development, but also public spaces, pedestrian connections, transport, local businesses, community facilities and the infrastructure needed to support future growth.
Importantly, the Master Plan identifies approximately 3,700m² of additional publicly accessible open space and provides a broader framework for supporting infrastructure and public benefits as Beverly Hills grows.
This is your opportunity to help shape Council’s long-term vision for the entire Beverly Hills town centre.

This is about more than how many buildings we can fit into Beverly Hills.
It is about how we plan for growth, how we fund and deliver the infrastructure that growth requires, and whether development delivers a better town centre and a better community.
