We will give a voice back to the community

All our candidates are genuinely community-minded. We’re free to make decisions for the community and free from the influence of major parties. Most importantly, we are not politicians but simply active, proud local community members.

We believe it is vital we give a voice back to the people and that decision-making is made by locals representing their community (not bureaucrats!).

Better financial management for improved services.

We believe better financial management can only be achieved by open and transparent governance. We will focus on:-

  • Protecting and maintaining community assets for future generations (not demolishing them or selling them off!)

  • We will fight to retain services, not have a reduction in services

  • We believe in balancing the budget by better management of expenditure ie: reduction in top-heavy management, reduction in outsourcing to consultants and retention of front line workers and not through the sale of public assets

  • We will work to achieve a fair rates harmonisation

  • We will reintroduce the Voluntary Pensioner Rebate

  • We will investigate ways to stimulate local shopping centres.

Protection of the natural environment and open spaces.

We believe we live in one of the best natural environments in Sydney, surrounded by the Georges River, scenic foreshores and natural bushland. It is vital that these natural environs are protected for future generations to enjoy. We will focus on:-

  • Protecting the natural environment and the scenic foreshore protection areas. Read more here.

  • Protecting public open spaces so that they are freely available to the public for passive enjoyment and not built upon for private-lease agreements. Watch video here.

  • Investigating more open space and improving existing open space utilising contributions money from developments. Glenlee at Lugarno is one example.

  • Introducing a Tree Register for significant and landmark trees to be part of Council’s Local Environment Plan (LEP).

  • Working collaboratively with other government agencies to improve the health of our waterways. Watch video here.

Stop overdevelopment & ensure future planning benefits the wider community.

We believe development in the area should be aligned with existing or planned infrastructure. We will focus on:-

  • Preventing rampant over-development and rejecting unnecessary density increases when the LGA is meeting its housing targets. Read more here.

  • Advocating for responsible development that benefits and meets the expectation of the whole community. Read more about Mortdale, Beverly Hills and Ramsgate.

  • Retaining ‘Local’ in local government. Bigger isn’t always better. Local libraries should be accessible for the young and old and should not be replaced by mega-libraries.

  • Local parks should be enhanced and maintained and not be replaced by mega-adventure-park play areas.

  • We believe there should be investment equity in a variety of sports, not an overinvestment in a few select sports.

Get Involved

We believe having true community-minded residents elected to council will be the only way to see change and have our voices heard. But we can’t do it alone.

We need your help

We need your support. We don’t have the backing of the major parties. We are calling on those passionate about their community to help in any way you can.

Can you pitch in?
